Bedtime Stories

How often do you read to your child? Honestly I am not a fan of reading aloud most of the time. I used to always take my daughter to a storytime group, where a lady reads to her. I had to step up my game. We used to only read one story before bed. Now I read a story or two during the day as well. With that many stories being read during the day, I needed to get more books.

Of course I went online to find some stories. I wanted something easy to read, short, and cute. These stories are great for children between the ages of 0-5. I love the art work throughout the stories. It is easy for a child to understand without being too overwhelmed. Each title takes its readers through the passage of a day (“good morning,” “good afternoon,” “good evening,” and “good night”). And most titles, if set in a place with seasonality, also include the seasons of the year (spring, summer, autumn, and winter). Children are further introduced to the practice of using polite salutations and greetings, all while being lulled to a good night’s sleep.

I picked out four stories and honestly they are all so adorable.

As soon as they arrived in the mail, my daughter wanted to read them. She was so excited to hear the stories. She was getting pretty bored of the same stories we already had. Everyone she talked to on the phone that day, she had to inform them of her awesome new books she got. She absolutely these stories.

Does anyone else have a kid who pretends to read the story themselves? Most of the time she has the stories memorized and does a really good job reading them.

Reading together is a great bonding time for us. I love the cuddles we get and hearing what her comments on the page we read will be. It is a great way to engage with your child and not have any other distractions.
